The Golden Visa programme was launched in 2012 and enables any non-European citizens, willing to invest in Portugal, to obtain a temporary residence permit to conduct business activities and travel freely across Europe within the Schengen Zone.

The most popular way to obtain the Golden Visa, and one which Commerzn can be an experienced partner, is through real estate investment of €500.000, although under special criteria this amount can be reduced to €350.000. You can also apply for the Golden Visa as a capital investor or by setting up a business with more than 10 employees.

This visa gives you and your dependent family an initial temporary residency permit for 12 months, which is then renewed for two additional years, in two years cycles for a maximum of 5 years after which you’ll need to apply for Permanent Residency Authorization.
