Verdizela, an urban fabric conceived in the early 1970s, is shaped by diverse architectural entities spread across different plots, creating an eclectic and intrinsic dynamic. The property undergoing transformation is located on a quiet street and has very appealing features for a peaceful and family-friendly lifestyle. A solidly built house with three floors and a private courtyard on a lower level were key elements in the project's design.

There is no project without the clients’ intentions, and theirs were very precise, making the process more interesting and the final result more personalized. The major changes were ultimately surgical, involving the strategic removal of some non-structural walls, the alteration of room entrances, and the realignment of spaces. A dated house was transformed into a contemporary family home.

Technologies were incorporated to enhance the home's habitability and comfort. Among the improvements were the replacement of windows, the installation of underfloor heating, and the addition of solar panels for electricity production — features that significantly increased the home's efficiency and sustainability.

The selection of materials was a process of great synergy between the client and the architects, culminating in an aesthetic coherence combined with the aforementioned spatial quality of each room and their interconnections.

A front patio was created to allow morning light into the living area and kitchen, elegantly complementing the home's main entrance. The existing side porches were renovated and enclosed with glass, fostering a continuous connection with the new garden and pool.

Renovating a home is an organic process of intentions, surprises, and decisions. This project in the Verdizela neighborhood was enriching due to the close relationship between the clients’ vision, the architectural ideas, and the construction team’s solutions. The result is a new home, ready to create fresh memories and joyful family moments.
